FAQ - Custom Sheaths
Custom Sheaths are made for a customer, for their specific product that is sent in for custom hand fitment. Since there are so many possible knives to make a sheath for, we make them one by one, by hand, and custom hand fit them, for each customer at time of order. As such, when placing an order for one, we have designed a simple way to configure your next custom sheath!
Sheaths are sold by length (3-12 inches, or above 12 inches). Measure the blade of your knife, and choose the appropriate length. If your knife is in between lengths, choose the next one higher. For instance, if your blade length is 9.5 inches, choose 10 inches for your custom sheath length (your fabricator will trim the sheath to appropriate length). Measure from the handle, not just the sharpened blade portion (from handle to tip of blade). The entire part enclosed by the sheath should be used.
Upon checkout completion you will receive an automated order confirmation email. In this email you will be provided the address, and instructions for sending items in for custom hand fitment. This address will be where you send your blade so that your custom sheath can be hand fitted for your specific blade. That's it!
Turn around times are noted in the product description and do change, so please make note of them when ordering (Updates are available on the front page). Sheath turn around times are normally right around three days, but can change due to large order volumes, or certain seasonal circumstances. Since we are a custom shop, we take great care with each customer's product. It is something that you are going to use and cherish for a lifetime, and we take great pride in it!
We do make sheaths for larger items - swords and axes as well (please see our over 12 inch Custom Sheath option, in the Custom Knife Sheath section, and our Quick Ship, and Custom Axe Sheath sections as well for axe, hatchet, and tomahawk offerings). If you require something not listed, simply use the Contact Us form (Under Contact Us at top of website). Customer Service will review your request, and respond within 24 hours (one business day). Please include as much information as possible in your inquiry, so that we can provide an accurate and timely response.
Please Note - Product image closely resembles finished product, but it cannot be exact due to differences in knife design. Retention will be similar. Default mounting hardware is HD Belt Loops for Traditional style knife sheaths, and they are included with every new Traditional knife sheath, free of charge (unless stated otherwise within the configurator due to design). Slimline sheaths do not come with a mount preinstalled. One can be chosen from the Accessories, Sheath Accessories section of the website. Molle compatible straps, Molle Lok, IWB Loops, or Tek Lok mounting options, etc., shown on sheaths for illustration purposes. Mounting hardware is completely modular, can be changed out at user's discretion, and can be purchased at any time separately. Mounting options shown can be purchased from Accessory section of website. Accessories can be changed out at home using a simple screw driver. We recommend using blue lock-tight on parts that will be experiencing heavier use, once desired configuration is attained.
